Dear sisters, brothers, and comrades,
As you would know, P&O Ferries sacked 800 seafarers on Thursday morning over a pre-recorded Zoom call.
The brutal sacking was carried out with just 30 minutes notice. These 800 workers were hard working, loyal and committed employees who do not deserve such disgraceful and unconscionable treatment.
This behaviour, overseen by DP World who are the owners of P&O, sets a dangerous precedent that we cannot accept.
No one should lose their livelihood without any warning. And we won’t let this go unchallenged.
Can you urgently sign this global letter of protest to show DP World & P&O Ferries that we won’t stand for this?
Sign the Global Letter
ITF General Secretary, Stephen Cotton is meeting with DP World in Dubai at the end of the month, and will hand deliver this Global Protest Letter directly to Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, CEO of DP World.
The ITF, ETF and global transport unions will stand in resolute solidarity with the P&O Ferries’ seafarers – and our sisters, brothers and comrades from the RMT and Nautilus International.
Join us in calling on DP World to instruct P&O to abandon this course of action
