Dreaming of starting your own business? AMOSUP’s Pangkabuhayan Program can get you started
It has always been the Union’s mission to help out its members beyond the usual benefits accorded to seafarers. This is the reason why AMOSUP started its Pangkabuhayan Program as a livelihood initiative to promote the entrepreneurial spirit among its members. The program was officially launched on Nov. 11, 2010 to coincide with the celebration of the Union’s 50th anniversary.
Through a draw, members get a chance to own an Asian Utility Vehicle (AUV) as Pampasadang Pangkabuhayan or a starter fund of P50,000 East West Bank Certificate as Pondong Pangkabuhayan. A total of two AUVs and fifty (50) P50,000 starter funds will be given away on the draw scheduled for Nov. 11, 2011, to celebrate the Union’s 51st year. Winning members will be given the leeway to use the starter fund for any purpose they choose – as capital for a small business, or as payment for education or medical expenses.
All bona fide Union members are qualified to join. All one has to do is to secure a registration, fill it out completely and present it along with his/her AMOSUP I.D. Card at the nearest Seamen’s Center. Each member will be entitled to one (1) entry only; participants with multiple entries will be disqualified from the draw. The joining period will run from Nov. 15, 2010 to Nov. 5, 2011.
