Course Requirements
BST – Basic Training
Offered to: All Officers, Ratings and Representation of agencies involved in the development of maritime manpower
Requirements:
- Photocopy of previous Medical Result
- Two(2) pieces of latest 1 ½ x 1 ½ photograph
- Applicant must be a High School Graduate
- Must be at least 17 years old
Note: MAAP, PMMA, FEATI
University and Lyceum of Batangas midshipmen/women should present Medical Certificate with coverage period of validity from school physician since physical & medical examination is being conducted annuallyNWRC – Ratings Forming Part of Navigational Watch / Ratings Forming Part of Engineering Watch
Offered to: Deck Ratings and Representative of agencies involved in the development of maritime manpower
Requirements:
- Two(2) pieces of latest 1 ½ x 1 ½ photograph
- Applicant must be a High School Graduate
- Must be at least 17 years old
RSC – Radar Simulation Course
Offered to: All Deck Officers; 3/M, 2/M & Captain
Requirements:
- Photocopy of valid PRC License
- Photocopy of Shipboard Experience Certificate or Sea-Going Service Record
- Photocopy of ROC Certificate or certification that the enrollee passed the ROC Course
- Two(2) pieces of latest 1 ½ x 1 ½ photograph
RABTSR – Radar, ARPA, Bridge Teamwork and Search and Rescue
Offered to: All Management; Deck Officers; 2/M, C/M Captain
Requirements:
- Photocopy of valid PRC License
- Photocopy of Ishihara Eyesight Test Result or previous Medical Result
- Photocopy of ROC and RSC
- Certificate or certification that the enrollee passed the RSC Course
- Two(2) pieces of latest 1 ½ x 1 ½ photograph
ECDIS – Operational Use of Electronic Chart Display and Information System
Offered to: All Deck Officers; 3/M, 2/M, C/M & Captain
Requirements:
- Photocopy of valid PRC License
- Photocopy of Shipboard Experience Certificate or Sea-Going Service Record

SSBT – Ship Simulator and Bridge Teamwork
Offered to: All Deck Officers; 3/M, 2/M, C/M & Captain

- Photocopy of ARPA (Radar navigation at Operational Level) formerly ROPC

ERS – Engine Room Simulator
Offered to: All Marine Engineers; 4/E 3/E, 2/E, 1A/E & Chief Engineers
Requirements:

Enrollment Process
- Inquire on slot and course availability and schedule either at ASTC Bataan (784-91-00 loc 4041 oc 4042) or MAAP Satellite Office in Manila (527-2110)
- Enrollment on schedule specified by ASTC and complete the training on the required days.
- STCW Course Requirements
- 2 pcs 1.5×1.5 picture in white background wearing appropriate uniform
- 2 pcs passport size picture in white background wearing appropriate uniform
- Medical certificate with at least 1-year validity (Basic)
- Photocopy of NSO Birth Certificate / Any Government issued ID with Date of Birth
- Non-STCW Course Requirements

Additional Requirements
AMOSUP Members: Present AMOSUP ID during enrollment. Upon verification, member seafarer will be given training discount.
Company Endorsed Seafarer: Company training representative will coordinate with ASTC for course availability, schedule, mode of transportation, and billeting.

Pre Departure Orientation Seminar Enrollment Procedure for Members
- Walk-in applicants must present endorsement letter from company
- Fill up application form and proceed to the designated room for PDOS
- Certificates are issued at the end of the seminar – trainees are required to sign the attendance sheet as requirements in the daily / monthly OWWA Report.

Pre Departure Orientation Seminar Enrollment Procedure for New Members
- Company will submit Letter of Request to accommodate trainees for PDOS-subject for approval by Dr. Conrado F. Oca, Mr. Johnny M. Oca or Atty. Emmanuel Partido (whoever is available)
- Require to submit endorsement letter from the company and subject for verification at AMOSUP for the veracity of the CBA
- Proceed to the usual enrollment procedure

Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific

Qualification Requirements
- Male or Female, Single
- Natural born Filipino
- Physically fit
- Morally upright and has no derogatory record
- Must be 18 years of age but not more than 23 by March 31 on the year of admission
- Maybe a high school graduate
- Minimum height: 5’4” (162.5cm ) for male and 5’2” (157.5cm) for female applicants
- Has GPA of at least 83%
- Has never been officially admitted at MAAP

Admission Process
- Take the MAAP Admission Exam (MAAP BOA). Successful applicants will receive a letter from MAAP.
- Take the Physical Fitness Test and Panel Interview. Successful applicants will be given referral and recommendation forms.
- Take Physical / Medical Examination care of Seamen’s Hospital
- Shipping companies will select applicants for sponsorship. Chosen applicant will receive a letter of qualification and requirements.
- Indoctrination and orientation period / Academic Ramp

Guidelines for Fasting Blood Collection (MAAP Applicants)
- Dinner should be between 8-9pm
- Have a light meal or snack before 12 midnight
- At exactly 12 midnight – STRICTLY NO FOODS AND DRINK INTAKE
- NO BREAKFAST, NOTHING BY MOUTH until blood extraction is done
- Be at the AMOSUP Seamen’s Hospital – Manila, PREPOST SECTION on or before 7AM with valid ID and referral slip from MAAP
Complete Address: AMOSUP Seamen’s Hospital, Cabildo Cor San Jose Sts, Intramuros, Manila
Landmarks: In between Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) and Manila Bulletin or beside Department of Labor (DOLE)

ONLY SCHEDULED EXAMINEES WILL BE ENTERTAINED. SHOULD YOU FAIL TO REPORT, PLEASE PROCEED TO MAAP SATELLITE OFFICE IN INTRAMUROS MANILA FOR RE-SCHEDULING
- FOR CONVENIENCE AND SPEEDY PROCESSING AND DUE TO LIMITED SPACE, ONLY APPLICANTS ARE ALLOWED TO GO INSIDE THE HOSPITAL. PARENTS OR GUARDIANS MAY ENTER ONLY WHEN CALLED OR REQUIRED.
- Present your endorsement/referral letter to Pre-Post Section with Valid ID-Basement Main Building.
- Fill up Complete Information Slip
- Proceed to EENT Department for Visual Acuity and Ishihara Test – Ground Floor Annex Building.
- Only those who passed the Visual Acuity and Ishihara test will proceed ti further Medical examinations.
- Blue card registration at Pre-post section – Basement Main Building
- Conduct of Medical Examinations
- Blood Extraction Unit (Ground Floor Main Building) – Blood chemistries, urinalysis, stool examination, and drug test
- OPD-ER (Dr. Gamboa) Ground Floor Main Building – Physical Examination
- EENT – Ground Floor Main Building – Audiometry
- Radiology Department – Ground Floor Main Building – Chest Xray
- Psychology Department – Second Floor Annex Building – Psychological Examination
- Dental Department – Second Floor Annex Building – Dental Checkup
- Finish all examinations on the same day of registration. All results will be released on the following day.
- Day 2: Release of results. Evaluation. Final interview. Release of Medical Certificate
